Evolution Dungeon -- User Manual

{ Back to Game }

Evolution Dungeon is a Roguelike RPG adventure game. You take control of three adventuring creatures and explore a series of cavern dungeons. Each dungeon is procedurally generated, so no two games will play exactly the same.

Unlike other games in the genre, you do not level by gaining "experience points". Rather, when you defeat opponents, you have the option to merge your player character's DNA with the opponent's.

Thus, your objective is to evolve by defeating opponents that are more powerful than your player characters.

Each creature's DNA consists of three genes: Red, Green, and Blue. The DNA affects the character's appearance, as well as their weaknesses and strengths. Generally, red genes give qualities that aid in battle against green, but are weak to blue. Green gives an advantage over blue, and blue an advantage over red.

Other statistics that are affected by DNA are health, strength, and defense. Merging DNA will reset your health to the new maximum. While you can destroy undesirable DNA, it might be worth keeping it as a backup. If one of your characters is low on health, merging with worse DNA may be better than dying.

Your success will depend on your strategies for evolving and maneuvering your team.

Should one of your player characters die, an egg will be generated on the next level. Reach the egg to rebirth one of your dead characters. As long as at least one of your characters survives to the next level, you'll have a chance to keep going. If all three characters die, the game is over.

Each dungeon has an exit. Reach the exit to move to the next level deeper and face more powerful foes.

Once a player character exits the level, the rest will keep playing. If all your characters on the current level are killed, but one is waiting at the next level, you will resume play at the next level.

How deep can you explore? Good luck!
